Writing articles when AI can write them for you

This is a huge dilemma for me as I am an old school person, with old school ideas who believes in writing and editing articles themselves. I must admit though that recently I wrote an article and wanted it to be edited but I was so tired after spending almost two hours on it. The editor was right there in front of me and I resorted to AI specifically telling it that I didn’t want to change the style of the article but rather make it more concise.

When writing articles, I want to see myself in the text and feel my spirit in how the article is put together. AI did a pretty good rendition even though I reedited it and completed the article with myself deeply embedded in it.

In fact, today, when I was preparing a poster for parents for our Winter School program, I thought I would ask AI to create the poster for me. I fed it the title and the text, but it came up a wee bit too boring. I reverted to canva.com and created a fabulous poster myself. The success is in trusting oneself and just moving headlong into the creative process.

It makes me wonder when students in school have to write essays, how do the schools know when they are self-written or written by AI? And even more so, when people present their dissertations, where is the fine line between a person’s writing and that of AI.

I will continue with my old school person ways and do what feels right for me. AI should not replace humans in the same way that screens should not be used as a replacement for human contact or learning.
