Sometimes when children’s behaviour is not atypical, people want to give it a label or diagnosis. This can provide clarity around how to help children in the learning process, but it can often be incorrect and detrimental.
ADD can sometimes be a grey area, and in our world of “perfection”, children are very often misdiagnosed, tiny ones. At the same time, we don’t want to undermine psychological testing; we believe that so many factors need to be taken into consideration before “labelling” a child.
